Bought this router to enable our Fiber installation. We have over 10 devices on this, 3 IWATCHES, 4 Laptops and 5 TV's. We are streaming and actively using the devices and Gaming has also been enabled on the PS4.. this Devices is never exceeding 40% utilization and has a fantastic outside range.. Installed 4 outdoor cameras, Blink from Amazon and these 3ork like a champ up to 150 feet away from the house.. cannot complain about range, capability and speed to all the devices...

Not a secure router

While this is touted as a gaming router, and it is absolutely easy to setup, it is not as powerful a router as you might think. If you purchased this for an intensive wireless setup where you have over 64 wireless devices, you will run out of whitelist space and that is by THEIR tech support, but I found it to be even less with only 57 devices that could run in the whitelist. Also, there is not near enough traffic analysis features. What makes it simple to setup and use is also what makes it weak for security. It lacks all sorts of traffic analysis features that more expensive routers like Asus take into account. The trend micro app that runs on the Archer router will block some nefarious hackers from gaining access, it does not spot or stop them all. I am a power user and have over 65 devices running on my network and I host a website behind my router so security and no connection limitations are a must. They also have managed to install a firmware hack (Horse Shell) on many of the TP-Link routers allowing state sponsored hackers such as "Camaro Dragon" to gain control of not only your router but to hack backwards into your network so I have lost all trust in the TP-Link router when it comes to security. If you want a highly secure router I would suggest steering clear of TP-Link.

Pros

  • Cheap
  • Fast
  • Good signal distance
  • Lots of hardwire connections built in

Cons

  • Not enough traffic analysis
  • Weak Security

The thickness (or depth) of the product.

Performance

Wi-Fi version

Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax), Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n)

The Wi-Fi versions supported by the device.
Wi-Fi bands

Tri-band

Dual band routers have two bands, 2.4GHz and 5GHz. The 5GHz band is faster and more stable, with the only downside being that it covers a shorter range than the 2.4GHz band. If you have many connected devices, you may benefit from a tri-band router, which has an additional 5GHz band to reduce network congestion. Finally, there are quad-band routers. These take advantage of Wi-Fi 6E to provide an additional 6GHz band for faster speeds and lower latency.
Wi-Fi speed

4804 Mb/s

A higher maximum Wi-Fi speed results in better performance. This is measured in megabits per second.
CPU speed

4 x 1.8 GHz

The CPU speed indicates how many processing cycles per second can be executed by a CPU, considering all of its cores (processing units). It is calculated by adding the clock rates of each core or, in the case of multi-core processors employing different microarchitectures, of each group of cores.
RAM

1GB

Random-access memory (RAM) is a form of memory used to store working data and machine code. Having more RAM is particularly useful for multitasking, allowing you to run more programs at once or have more tabs open in your browser.
has an external memory slot
TP-Link Archer AX11000
The device has a standard memory slot (such as an SD or micro SD card slot) that enables you to extend the built-in internal storage with affordable memory modules, or easily retrieve data, such as photographs, from the memory card.
Has DNS relay
TP-Link Archer AX11000
With DNS relay or DNS caching, the router stores the response to queries for a short time. This means that the same query will return a quicker response if repeated from another computer in the same network.
internal storage

Unknown. Help us by suggesting a value.

The internal storage refers to the built-in storage space available in a device for system data, apps, and user-generated data. With a large amount of internal storage, you can save more files and apps on your device.
