I do 3d camera programming, OpenCV, python, c#, c++, TensorFlow, Blender, Omniverse, VR, Unity and unreal so I'm getting value out of this hardware.
I understand that a person that is just playing video games can do perfectly fine with a 3080.
Programs I use like isaac-sim have a hardware recommendation of a 3080 so for me to be using a 3090 is not overkill.
I have had my "Asus tuf oc 3090" for about a year and a half. At first the drivers at release were unfinished. Then win11 at release was unfinished especially VR. Now everything is rock solid... so far.

It has great performance compared to previous cards, but the price is overvalued with the release of the rtx40.
