Regarding the JBL Quantum One: If you are planning to only use this on PC with the JBL Quantum software, this headset is incredible once you dial in your equalizers to your preferences. This headset has absolutely changed how I listen to music. Listening to the same songs in my car, or through other speakers, it doesn’t sound right. The clean audio from the headset allows me to pinpoint details in songs that I never noticed before. In some songs, you can tell the quality of their music producing tools based on the clarity of the music. The headphones really bring out the details. When lower quality content is played, it sticks out like a sore thumb due to how clear the headset is. That’s the fault of the content being played not the headset. It’s a testament to how good the sound is on this headset. The sound is very clean and clear. I have not played anything that has had any distortion. The clarity EQ is closest to where I believe it should be, but I fine tuned it a little bit more to my own liking. For playing games, you will want to decrease the lower frequencies and increase the upper mid to high frequencies. It is a very good headset once you dial in your EQs, and it can handle about anything you can through at it. The surround sound on this headset is a little strange. The DTS surround sound makes it feel artificially bass-ey. With a little bit of echo. It’s not bad, but not as clean sounding. The JBL Quantum 360 surround sound is absolutely horrendous. I cannot tell that audio is coming from different directions accurately, and it adds a lot of echo making for a messy audio experience that makes it hard to focus on anything. It is best to leave off surround sound. For lower end headsets, DTS surround greatly improved them. But this headset is so good in stereo that the surround diminishes the clean crisp sound quality it would otherwise have. What I have said so far is regarding the USB connection. For AUX, it works. Audio does play through it, but the highs and mids are not very audible while the lows are overly loud to the point that they overpower what is important. Trying this on Xbox, I went back to my old $60 headset which sounds horrible for music, but does well in the mids and mid high frequencies with nearly no low frequencies. This headset I would avoid if you plan on using the AUX very often. With that said, if you want to use it on PC, it is incredible and I would definitely recommend.

Pros

  • Incredible USB sound quality
  • Incredible bass without sacrificing clarity
  • Good mids
  • Above overage highs
  • Fun lighting
  • Braided cable
  • Very good mic
  • Very good noice cancellation
  • Active notice cancellation very good for highs
  • Sweat is easily cleanable

Cons

  • Quality over AUX is worse than $50 headsets
  • Highs are lacking over AUX
  • Does not sound good out of box, but sounds good after update
  • Sounds very flat until you adjust equalizers
  • Surround sound only adds echo, it is very unpleasant
  • DTS surround is overly bass-ey
  • Dolby Atom is better experience than DTS on this headset
  • RBG doesn’t have brightness control
  • Not worth $300, but I got it on sale for $150
  • With good noise isolation, ear cups get warm
